The Spiral Technique empowers individuals to actively alter their experience of distressing sensations.

How to Use the Spiral Technique

  1. Awareness: Sit quietly and focus on the distressing emotion or sensation.
  2. Visualize the Spiral: Imagine the feeling as a spiral of energy in your body. Observe its color, direction, and speed.
  3. Manipulation: Mentally change the spiral’s direction. For example, if it’s spinning clockwise, turn it counterclockwise. Adjust its speed and observe the changes.
  4. Observation: Notice how these adjustments affect your emotional and physical state.
  5. Repetition: Repeat until you feel a sense of relief or control.

Why It Works This method offers a tangible way to reframe and diminish the intensity of distressing emotions, fostering a sense of empowerment.
